Black Alumni Society (BAS)

Dear Fellow University of South Alabama Alumni,

I am deeply honored to serve as President of the University of South Alabama Black Alumni Society for the 2026–2028 term and grateful for the confidence you have placed in me. I am excited to serve alongside an exceptional group of alumni committed to the continued success of our beloved University of South Alabama.

As Jaguars, we share a lifelong connection to our University and a responsibility to help shape its future. As we begin this new chapter, I am proud to embrace the University’s new campaign theme—Where Bold Begins—a message that reflects the spirit of South Alabama and the opportunities before us.

For the Black Alumni Society, being bold means strengthening the voice, visibility, and impact of African American alumni while fostering meaningful engagement across the entire University community. It means honoring our history while creating new opportunities for alumni and future generations of Jaguars.

Over the next two years, our work will be guided by three commitments:

Connect

Connect alumni with one another by building meaningful relationships and strengthening our Jaguar network.

Empower

Empower professional and personal growth for alumni, current students, and future students through mentoring, networking, leadership development, and opportunities for success.

Give Back

Give back through philanthropy, mentoring, and meaningful University engagement that helps future generations of Jaguars thrive.

Our greatest impact will come through collaboration with the USA National Alumni Association, University leadership, fellow affinity groups, students, and alumni from every background. Together, we can strengthen our alumni community and make a lasting difference at South Alabama.

I invite you to reconnect, get involved, mentor a student, volunteer your talents, and invest in the future of our University. Bold begins with each of us—and grows through what we accomplish together.

Thank you for your continued support of the University of South Alabama. I look forward to meeting many of you in the months ahead as we Connect, Empower, and Give Back—and demonstrate what it means to be part of a University Where Bold Begins.

Go Jags!

Warm regards,
