Academic Year 2027-2028 Assignment Timeline

RENEW YOUR ROOM

Current residents may have the ability to renew their current room assignment for the next academic year if eligible. Eligibility to renew your room is based on the completion date of the Academic Year 2027-2028 housing contract and whether your current room is available for renewal.

Dates & Deadlines:

  • Housing Contract Deadline: February 1, 2027
  • Renew Your Room event opens on MyUSAHousing: February 9-12, 2027

Updates for Academic Year 2027-2028:

  • Residents may renew their same room during the established online Renew Your Room event window if they have a completed Academic Year 2027-2028 housing application and are also currently living in a room that is eligible for renewal.
  • If, at the end of the Renew Your Room event, there are vacancies in a resident's room, adjoining suite, or apartment (i.e., not every bed is filled), they may be consolidated at USA Housing's discretion. USA Housing will consolidate residents to the same room type and same community, but it may not necessarily be the same wing, floor, or building.
  • If a resident knows they will have a vacancy in their room/suite/apartment (i.e., their roommate will be graduating or not living on campus for Academic Year 2027-2028), they may pull in a requested roommate(s) in advance of the Priority Room Selection event in February to ensure their preferred roommate(s) are together.
    • Note: Preferred roommate requests must be made by both parties by the end of the day on Thursday, February 18 (i.e., the Thursday before the Priority Room Selection event begins online). The form to create a preferred roommate request will be linked here and available soon.
  • After the online Priority Room Selection event begins, USA Housing still reserves the right to consolidate as needed and will consolidate residents to the same room type and community if applicable.

IMPORTANT: Residents in the following buildings/rooms are NOT eligible to renew their same room:

▼   Azalea Hall
All rooms are ineligible to renew.
▼   Camellia Hall
All rooms are ineligible to renew.
▼   Epsilon 1 & 2
All rooms are ineligible to renew.
▼   Delta 6
All rooms are ineligible to renew.
▼   Stokes Hall, Delta 3, & SouthPaw Village

Select rooms are ineligible for renewal due to being reserved for either phased renovations, approved University groups/departments, accessibility accommodations, or a change in the room type/classification.

Stokes Hall: All suites on the 1200, 2200, 3200, & 4200 wings are ineligible to renew.

Delta 3: All rooms on the 2nd floor are ineligible to renew.

SouthPaw Village: All apartments in Buildings 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, & 10 are ineligible to renew.

 

Priority Room Selection

Current residents have first priority room selection for all rooms (excluding Azalea Hall, Camellia Hall, Epsilon 1 & 2, or Delta 6). Room selection priority is based on the completed date of the AY 2027-2028 Housing contract. 

  • Housing Contract Deadline: February 1, 2027
  • RoomSync Roommate Matching Deadline: February 10, 2027
  • Priority Room Selection event opens on MyUSAHousing: February 23-26, 2027

Students will receive details by email to their JagMail about these assignment events, including timeslots for participation.
