Undergraduate Research

Students presenting research project.

Mitchell College of Business faculty encourage undergraduate students to make original intellectual or scholarly contributions to their respective disciplines through research. This scholarly and creative activity assists students in enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity and written communication, ultimately enhancing their overall academic and professional skills

Students who engage in undergraduate research are guided to select a faculty member as a mentor to help assist with the faculty’s research or pursue their own hypothesis. Research students are guided to take advantage of opportunities on campus and beyond, such as South’s Undergraduate Research Fellowship and Symposium and the annual Society of Business, Industry, and Economics Conference.

The Mitchell College empowers students through high-impact experiences that give graduates a distinct competitive advantage in the business world.

Students interested in participating in the undergraduate research program at the Mitchell College should contact Dr. Al Chow | alchow@southalabama.edu.
